Delivering Our Care Service
Our experienced team of nurses are in charge of the Home. Many of our staff have worked for us for many years, and have developed their skills and their qualifications through continual training which underpins everything we do. We work closely with specialist GPs and NHS consultants to offer evidence-based patient-centred care.
All staff perform their duties to the highest standards using the Skills for Care induction protocols and through continuous training and development based on the National Qualification Framework (NQF).
A lot of our staff are qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3, and we try and offer training to all new staff so there is a wealth of knowledge and experience in our team.
Our staff team is supported by a Social Life Co-ordinator and visiting therapists, musicians and theatre groups who provide a range of patient activities.
Drugs, medications and treatments prescribed by the Doctor are administered at the prescribed times.
Individuals who are able to may control their own medication and will be asked to sign a disclaimer form if they wish to do this. There are qualified nurses on duty at all times, and they are always available to talk to the individuals we care for (and their relatives where appropriate) about their Care Plan and/or their condition.
Each individual has a Care Plan jointly agreed between them and our staff and this is regularly reviewed and updated. Key to the delivery of our care service is that each individual we look after has the right of choice and control over as much of their lives as possible. Staff have to remember at all times that the individuals we care for are the most important people in the Home and that their rights must be acknowledged and respected.
Care will be taken to respect each individual’s background, ethnic origins and religion. Where appropriate, these aspects are taken into account when formulating Care Plans. Personal information is only released with the permission of the individual being cared for, or their legal representative or next of kin.
Registration and Inspections
Danesford Grange is registered under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to provide Nursing Care and Personal Care for up to 38 persons in addition to providing supporting services under the categories of Diagnostic and Screening Services and the Treatment of disease, disorder or injury.
Danesford Grange is recognised by the Care Quality Commission as fully compliant.
Those we care for and their relatives are welcome to see copies of the inspection reports kept by the Home and we encourage service users and their representatives to meet with CQC inspectors.
